A distinctive ‘Info-line’ in white runs the length and width of the machine with displays showing paper levels, job status and data processing at a glance. There is also a full colour 8 inch high-resolution display, with a touch screen that can be both rotated and tilted to suit a desired position to avoid glare - and even an "enlarge screen" mode for easy reading and keystroke entry. The screen also features thumbnails of each job in the user box.

The bizhub C550 boasts an environment-friendly manufactured toner and is a trend-setter for the production of high-quality print and copy. Razor-sharp text and lines and highly durable print finish are just some of the advantages offered.
The bizhub C550’s "Induction Fusing" technology uses induction heat transfer, a safe and instant source of heat that enables image fusing at lower temperatures than conventional fusing. As well as using less energy Induction Fusing means the bizhub C550 has a warm up time of just 85 seconds (or just 12 seconds from standby) , a performance breakthrough for a colour imaging system All this helps you to save energy and maximise the quality of your print and copy results.
The bizhub C550 also benefits from Konica Minolta’s patented Simitri® HD Polymerised Toner with smaller, smoother, more uniform toner particles for more even distribution, significantly better fine line definition, and better filling of solid print areas.
Easier Networking
The bizhub C550 uses Konica Minolta’s bizhub open platform (OP) architecture and features an improved Emperon image controller, providing a unified driver for the print and scan functions, as well as straightforward network integration. The image controller supports PCL6c and PostScript Level 3 printing. All this ensure any office using the bizhub C550 has access to its powerful functions, and ensure maximum office workflow.
Security Innovation
For advanced access control the bizhub C550 has an optional biometric finger vein authentication scanner. Finger vein authentication scans the vein patterns (more reliable than even finger prints) in the finger making user authentication fast and accurate. This means that users in secure environments can access the bizhub C550 quickly without the need to memorise user names and passwords. This is a truly innovative feature of the bizhub C550 and will be a huge winner for any office looking to ensure minimum wastage and maximum security of valuable company information.
Additional security is offered by a PDF encryption system which prevents unauthorised tampering with PDF files. A password can be set to open, print or edit the file. Tailored Finishing via Modules
The bizhub C550 is available with a range of high productivity finishing options including sorting, stapling and saddle stitching, as well as two- and four-hole punching capabilities. An optional Super G3 fax module is also available.
Printing can be in monochrome (at 55 pages per minute) and full colour (45 pages per minute). Duplex (2-sided) printing comes as standard. Exceptionally, all 4 paper trays (capacity 3500 sheets) handle paper weights up to 256 gsm . In addition, the bizhub C550 bypass tray for short or one-off copying tasks can handle paper and card weights up to 300 gsm.
Finishing options include letterfold and centrefold for easy preparation of documents (eg invoice runs) for envelope-stuffing, as well as booklet (eg folding A3 paer to A4 and stapling), general stapling and group sorting for runs of multi-page documents.
