Canon Colortac SmartLF Ci 40 Series - The Benefits
The SmartLF Ci 40 is a 40-inch large format scanner and a fourth-generation CIS technology scanner. It creates sharp, accurate scans especially suited to technical documents like CAD drawings, blueprints, technical drawings and maps. The high 600 dpi optical resolution on these scanners is more than enough for any technical large format scanning job. (The optimal scanning resolution for most technical documents is 200 to 400 dpi.)
SmartLF Ci 40 Series - Innovations
These scanners provide intuitive face-up, front-loading of documents with a unique front ejection system that distinguishes it from traditional multiple roller, front-feed, rear exit large format scanners.
A key differentiator in the design in the SmartLF Ci 40,s bright 2D LED illumination. This means that even folded documents scan sharp and shadow free. This unique design innovation improves the light levels on the document being scanned and results in superior quality images with reduced shadows and wrinkles caused by folds or creases in the original
Another key differentiator is the aforementioned single large, slowly revolving roller, which introduces less error than the multiple smaller rollers found in all other large format scanners. Multiple rollers must complete many revolutions per scan. This single scan functionality makes the Ci 40 the most accurate large format scanner in the SmartLF range.
