About the imageRUNNNER 2500 series
The Canon imageRUNNER 2500 (or iR2500) series offers a range of cost-efficient, compact monochrome printers with colour scanning capability. This series of multifunctional print devices must be on any procurement short-list for small to medium workgroups and organisations. Each model in the series provides a networked print hub for easy workflows, ease of management, cost saving functions, easy integration and ease of inter-group communication.

The big differentiator for this series is Canon's increased durability and operational uptime compared to previous models via a newly designed main engine unit. Improved uptime is achieved through a design that focuses on parts durability, a reduction of replaceable components and ease-of-service by Officemagic technicians.
A key technical element in this is Canon's imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform) LITE system architecture, ensuring high productivity and print speeds. The engine achieves this this by efficiently processing multiple functions simultaneously.
For workgroups that need the additional productivity benefits of even more more advanced features, imageRunner 2500 systems are also available in "i" model configurations. In addition to the base features, the "i" models also include PCL and PostScript (emulated) printing, Colour Send, including PDF High Compression technology for network management, and Searchable PDF capability to work with scanned information from PC and other 3rd party applications.

Each model in the series offers black-and-white letter-sized output speeds of 20 pages per minute (iR2520 versions) up to 45 pages-per-minute (iR2545 versions). The quick first copy out times can be as low as 3.9 seconds.
The imageRunner 2500 Series further enhances productivity with scanning available in both black and white and colour, with letter-sized scanning at speeds up to 45 images-per-minute (ipm) using Canon's Colour Send technology for fast document distribution.
The large touchscreen display with intuitive menus makes all models in the series easy to use, enabling users to save time and do more. Colour i-Send increases productivity and transforms business processes. Users can quickly and efficiently scan in colour straight to a variety of destinations, including network and FTP folders as well as email addresses. A great enhancement is the advanced address or location search facility to make distribution to email quicker and easier, improving office workflow.
Canon imageRUNNER 2500 series: cost efficiency
The series is immediately cost-effective by organising the functionality of multiple devices into one single networked system, but this is just the beginning. The several versions on the range are all configurable, meaning you do not pay for facilities that are not needed.
Ongoing costs are kept in check by longer-life parts and increased uptime via Canon's compact E-Drum imaging unit and higher yield Quick Fixing (QF) toner. This E-Drum technology was first adopted in the imagePress model for professional colour printing. Its technical design employs an additional coat layer on the drum surface to deliver improvements in durability. It is now rolled out in the imageRUNNER 2500 series for use in daily workflows.
Canon imageRUNNER 2500 series: easy management
With a network interface as standard, all devices can be easily connected to an IT network. Moreover, Canon's iW Management Console (iWMC) enables you to manage and monitor your whole fleet from a single point of control.
Meanwhile, great cost savings and easy security controls are achieved via a departmental ID management system, which safeguards important settings and controls print costs. Plus, an eMaintenance tool enables remote diagnostics and enables you to monitor consumables.
Canon imageRUNNER 2500 series: reducing environmental impact
All models in the series are EnergyStar certified, with the lowest TEC (Typical Electricity Consumption) rating in their class. Consuming as little as 1.5 watts in sleep mode and offering automatic double-sided printing to save paper, these are additional environmentally-conscious features.
Canon technologies also enable the 2500 Series models to fuse toner to paper with less heat, resulting in lower energy usage.
